A good maintenance session now, will benefit your garden for the coming year. This includes:
- The routine removal of perennial and annual weeds to reduce maintenance next year.
- The beds benefit from being well dug over, possibly including some
soil improver, feed or manure to improve drainage and growth.
- Shrubs should be hard pruned, and reduced where necessary, to encourage new and more productive growth next year.
- Fruit and other mature trees are best pruned in December/January to reduce the risk of disease.
